This page takes questions from Developer Survey Questions and Accenture DCI Questions in an attempt to develop a Survey that the DCI WG would like to present to the larger Hyperledger Community. The survey has the following goals:
- Understand how the Hyperledger Community is doing in regards to Diversity, Civility, and Inclusion (See Section 1 questions)
- Understand interaction experiences (See Section 2 questions)
- Understand who is part of the Hyperledger Community (See Section 3 questions)
Survey Introduction
Welcome to the Hyperledger Community Survey. Your input here will be extremely valuable to help Hyperledger to understand and benchmark sentiments in the community around the various topics below. We are very grateful for your time and participation and hope that you will see the impact of your input over the course of the next year as we respond to the survey's output. there are few terms and concepts that we'd like to make sure we define so that you can keep it in mind as you proceed through the questions:

For me section 3 is the most important for setting our baseline and the fewer questions before that the better to maximize completed surveys.
Section 2 is in some ways seeking the same information as Section 1. There's the added detail of where those experiences happened, but it's at the expense of a lot more questions. Is there a way we can combine those? Or maybe drop section 1 in favor of section 2?
We could also combine chat and email into one set of questions. I don't see a ton of email volume, especially in comparison to chat, so seems like little risk in loss of detail to merge them.

I tend to agree ... I'd pick section 2 over section 1 and I think we can narrow down interactions to email/chat, code contribution, events (although I could see f2f events versus online events). I also think that 2a/2b could be combine OR 2b should come before 2a. Same with 2c/2d and 2e/2f, although as mentioned earlier maybe combine 2c and 2e and 2d and 2f.

To me questions 1a to 1d are talking about values that Hyperledger should pursuit anyway. I think, we should not ask that but put them as foundational values of this community.

Including my response to Silas from above here as well:
This section is to get a sense for whether these concepts are valued in the community, we can't necessarily assume that. For example, asking these questions at Uber (knowing its non-welcoming culture) would be different than say VICE media. So it is intended to get a gauge where our community is on these values. Saying it's really important to you provides that information and as an aggregate if a majority in the community say that then we will know where on the spectrum this community lies in caring about these values, and hence when looking at different DCI approaches that are out there, which may be most effective. Trying to improve DCI at Uber is not the same as doing it at VICE. So this question does not get at the "how" because that is not the purpose of the question, but the topic of the following questions.

I suggest combining 1a-1d into a single question (similar to 2a). Similarly for questions 1f-1m. 1e would then probably fit after that to limit what they see in section 2.
