Diversity in Blockchain

Susan Joseph, Executive Director of Diversity in Blockchain & Founder and Principal at Susan Joseph LLC

Susan,  a JD/MBA and former General Counsel, is a Founder and Principal at SusanJosephLLC, a consulting firm, and owner of the Law Firm of Susan Joseph.   She has been consulting and advising in law, blockchain and fintech for the past five years in the areas of digital assets, cryptocurrencies, enterprise distributed ledgers, smart contracts, nfts (non fungible tokens) insurance, regulatory matters, identity and privacy, banking, and other issues across the financial services, insurance, and real estate sectors.   

Susan is the Project Leader and Consortium Advisor for MMBI (Global Mining and Minerals Blockchain Consortium with the World Economic Forum), co-founded and is CEO of HealthTrends.AI, a healthcare data and analytics company, and is the Executive Director of Diversity in Blockchain, a 501(c)(3) entity that provides education and resources to support diversity and inclusion in the blockchain space.  Susan was formerly the B3i North America Representative (Insurance Consortium) and advised RiskStream (Insurance Consortium) on their Civics Program. She created and ran Blockchain Working Groups for Global Insurers and was the first Executive Director of ID2020. 

Susan is an Advisor to 3SN, a Global Impact Capital Fund, Evertas (dedicated digital asset insurer) and One World Identity (identity and privacy). She is also a contributor to the World Economic Forum projects including the Blockchain Supply Chain Toolkit, the recently published Bridging the Governance Gap-Dispute Resolution for blockchain-based transactions, and a member of their Expert Network.  Susan is the Blockchain Editor for Insurtech360 and publishes and speaks regularly on digital assets, data, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, insurance, and insurtech regarding both business and legal issues to industry and legal groups.

Anna Ashurov

Director, is a member of the COO team of the Aladdin Business within BlackRock Solutions, which provides risk analytics and portfolio management and trading systems to clients.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Ms. Ashurov was a partner and senior director of commercial strategy and transformation at Anheuser-Busch InBev, where she led commercial strategy for ABI's North American business through innovation, technological advancement, portfolio and pricing strategy and transformation initiatives (such as B2B and eCommerce). Prior to joining ABI in 2019, Ms. Ashurov was a senior investment banker at Goldman Sachs in the firm's capital markets division, where she advised corporate and financial sponsor clients on origination, structuring, and execution of financing transactions. Ms. Ashurov served as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy and Data Analytics for the financing division between 2016 - 2018 and was responsible for business management, strategic planning, technology and people management.

Prior to Goldman Sachs, Ms. Ashurov spent time in restructuring advisory and portfolio management at Barclays Capital during the financial crisis and middle market banking at JPMorgan Chase.

Ms. Ashurov earned an undergraduate degree from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business and JD from Brooklyn Law School.
