Here are some recommendations to help you get started:

• If you are new to Hyperledger, you will need a Linux Foundation ID (LFID) to edit our wiki pages and chat on Hyperledger channels. Here are directions on how to create your LFID: Written directions | Youtube Video.
• Subscribe and join the SIG mailing list.
• Add your name and a brief bio to the SIG Members page.Subscribe and join the SIG mailing list. 
• If you are on Discord, come join our channel on the Hyperledger Discord server.
• If you are on LinkedIn, come follow our LinkedIn page.
• Join the SC&TF SIG's meetings (held every-other Thursday).

Learn about the Supply Chain and Trade Finance SIG

• Review the SIG Scope to learn about the SC&TF SIG mission, objectives, and scope of work.
• Review meeting notes and listen to recordings of past SC&TF SIG Meetings to familiarize yourself with key areas of focus and current work.

Introduce Yourself

• Join a SIG meeting and introduce Introduce yourself in real time.
• Introduce yourself to the group over the SIG mailing list (you may be prompted to create a log in account since it's not connected to your LFID).
• Introduce yourself on our channel on the Hyperledger Discord server.
• Add your name and a brief bio to the SIG Members page.

You can do a lot to help move us forward even if you're not a coder!  We need your help, so post to the mailing list and tell us what you're working on and how we could work together.

• Propose an idea to our Planning and Suggestions page.
• Start a project.

• Share relevant news and events to the current Weekly News Digest page.

Contribute as a Technical Member / Developer

If you're a developer, welcome! Here's your chance to create code that has an impact on supply chains and trade finance.

As a technical member/developer you can: 

• Add to the test coverage
• Implement fully designed modules.
• Call out need for specific requirements on the mailing list.
• Build apps based on our project.  It's open source!  

If you are a developer and new to blockchain, start by:

• Going through the Hyperledger Fabric tutorials
• Read some tutorials about developing Ethereum apps, such as Building an Ethereum dApp
• Then try the steps for "experienced developer" below: 

If you are an experienced blockchain developer:

• Create a Hyperledger Supply Chain and Trade Finance repository on Github. (See here for how to propose a new lab.)
• Check out the code at our (to be created) Github repository.
• Post relevant code to our repository.
• Get it up and running.
• Think you can improve the code? Yes you can! (For example, how about:)
• Improve documentation.
• Propose a new feature or enhancement.
• Talk about this project on your blog or social media.
• Champion a new project! Choose a project from our Planning and Suggestions page or create your own. Visit Hyperledger Labs to learn how to get started.
