A presentation on GADI (Global Architecture for Digital Identity) by Ramesh Kesanupalli the CEO of  Digital Trust Networks. He co-founded DID Alliance, which created GADI. He was also was the founder of FIDO Alliance.

for solving the digital identity challenge. The mission of the DID Alliance, which is the creator of GADI, is to establish a new trustable identity framework by providing a unique digital address to everyone which empowers them to control their distributed personal identity data to reinforce trust and accountability in the real or digital world. At the heart of GADI is the Digital Address; the Digital Address is a special GADI identifier issued to an individual by a certified Digital Address Issuer after Know Your Customer (KYC) processes have been followed.

DID Alliance through GADI seeks to increase DID operation and adoption by enabling a business interoperability layer as well as a technological one. Part of the GADI vision is monetization of the issuer's efforts to attest to credentials.

In the HL IDWG presentation we will have some questions like:

  • Debate correlation risk in the provision of a universal identity? Even though GADI uses Indy, some of the principles are in opposition to the concepts espoused by Aries and others of total control and decentralization of SSI. Let us debate this. DiF, W3C VC etc.
  • How useful is it for non-persons or Enterprises? What about IOT devices? Are there links to LEI?
  • How can GADI be used in other Blockchain based applications? Provenance, Digital Finance, Healthcare, Digital Government?
  • Such generic identifiers are already part of many national infrastructures: SSN in the US, Aadhaar in India and so on. How will GADI interact with them?
  • No labels
