Ron Argent
Founder and CEO, Cognition Foundry
Ron is a seasoned IT professional and business owner. With over 40 years in the IT industry, covering sales, design and engineering he has worked with many of the largest companies in the world. Recently he has focused his attention on helping start-ups take an enterprise view of application design early in their program cycle enabling their applications to be scalable and highly secure. Passionate about innovation and talent he founded Cognition Foundry in 2015, a company designed to provide easy and affordable access to an enterprise scale computing platform along with mentoring, design and architectural expertise. Working with incredibly talented individuals, with a strong focus on environmental and social impact initiatives, Ron enjoys an interesting and (very) busy life. Ron is also Co-founder of TES Enterprise Solutions Ltd, an IBM Platinum Business Partner. TES is an accredited IBM reseller specialising in IBM Enterprise Class systems - z Systems, Power Systems and Storage.

Mark Herrema
Co-founder and CEO of Newlight Technologies.
In 2003, Mark co-founded Newlight with a vision of using greenhouse gas as a resource to make high-performance sustainable materials. After a decade of research, Mark and his team developed a technology that uses a natural process found in the ocean to make a material called AirCarbon. AirCarbon is a meltable energy storage molecule made in almost all known living things that is strong, meltable, and ocean-degradable.
AirCarbon is now being used to replace plastic in single-use foodware, fashion products, and a variety of other applications. Newlight has been honored to receive recognition as “Biomaterial of the Year” by the Nova Institute, “Innovation of the Year” by Popular Science, and “Technology Pioneer” by the World Economic Forum. In 2016, Newlight was awarded the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Mark graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, and has since garnered over 15 years of expertise in process engineering, polymer functionalization, and strategic business development.
