Western hemisphere call

  1. Release status
    1. 1.4.7 confirmed as just bug fixes
    2. BFT continuing, 2H 2020
    3. Channel API RFC approved, presentations on contributors calls, reducing neccesity of system channel
    4. Config Txn library - discussed at length reduce fabric tools for channel update procedures.
    5. Deployment guide merged, and CA deployment merged. User CA later, and follow-on topics for peer and ordering service.
    6. Snapshot and checkpoint continues. Advantages for restart scenarios
    7. Programming model GO SDK for 2.2
    8. BYFN all-replaced, Samples are now on test network.  Deprecated as topic, used test network instead.
    9. 2.1.1 Scheduled for next week
    10. Deeper discussion on strategic imperative of checkpoint/recovery
    11. Limited new functionality going into an LTS – this is a good thing. Quite unlike 1.4.x earlier releases
