1.Do you have any questions about the Giving Chain project and what the project GOAL is?

All my questions were perfectly answered by Bobbi. Thank you again!

2.Do you have a preference to part time (20 hours a week from June to November). Or Full time  (40 hours from June to August)

20 hours a week from June to November

3.Describe what you feel the project must overcome

  1. Creating a sense of zeal is important, as there might be donors who feel they are donating less than others, by creating a positive environment it would make the donor more confident in their donations which would help them in making recurring donations. The donations can vary from used books, clothes to toothbrushes, the most valuable thing for us should be the emotion of happiness.
  2. A flexible platform should be considered for people who are aged or are not able to handle technology for making transactions and is transparent for them to know where their donations are going.
  3. The tax benefits for donations can both positively and negatively affect our system. "Ramesh Krishnan, a cost and management accountant expert with Olive Life Sciences, says, "People who want to contribute to charities should choose institutions approved by the I-T department for tax exemption. Government funds like Prime Minister's Relief Fund, Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Earthquake Relief Fund, and Flood Relief Fund have 100% deduction eligibility. "
  4. The idea of automation is also very appealing if it does not affect the basic fundamentals of our system. For example, taking photos of the goods and then with just a single press of a button may trigger the whole process. The making of such a model with our fundamentals of privacy and transparency on point can be very challenging but will create a product that shall have the potential of changing the world.
  5. Making a feasible rewarding system for our volunteers can be a bit tricky. Let's be honest, very few people want to volunteer for free, hence creating a reward system will help us get over this problem. But, on the other hand, prevention of greed is a must need.
  6. Utilization of resources can also be a bit tricky. Let me explain with an example if there are 5 donations to be made from a location, Rather than using 5 different volunteers we can use a single volunteer, considering all the donations were to be made to the same NGO/Bank.
  7. This authentic system might be used as a channel for trafficking illegal materials as well in order to sustain monetary or materialistic interests of some mischievous volunteers through this safe system and needs to be kept under surveillance

4.What does success look like for this project.

  1.  The point when we will mobilize and inspire the volunteers, the donors, and the needy to constantly create meaningful ways to engage and connect to our mission and its core values, that will be the success of The Giving Chain.
  2. Deploy the chain, Understand the process and try to automate it.

  3. Accepting criticism and fixing them.

    Hyperledger - The Giving Chain
I found out about the mentorship program through the Hyperledger India Chapter
Linkedin page. I have been active in different communities so that I do not miss any
opportunities. The giving chain will not just solve a real-time problem but would help
many in need. Taking the example of India, Many have used covid19 as an excuse to
make fraud charity funds to fill their pockets, There is no track of Government funds.
There is no transparency on where the millions of rupees are going. I genuinely want to
work on this problem and solve it. I want the people of not just my Country but every
needy person to get all the help they can get. I want to make transparency in the system
that has always been misused or altered for one's personal needs or gains.
    Experience
I work as a Python Developer in iConnect an Information Technology & Services
