The article aims at illustrating the basic principles in Trade Finance, in general, and, more particularly in documentary credit. Now, the question it poses is: how will the latest technologies, and in particular the combination of blockchain and IoT, help us in overcoming these two old concepts? Will they still stand? or we can think of "new" products, based on real records / data
